Banned Books Scavenger Hunt

Every year the American Library Association publishes a list of books that were challenged by people and organizations who wanted those books banned from schools and libraries. This year, independent bookstores throughout California who are members of the California Independent Bookstore Association (CALIBA) challenge you to a Banned Books Week contest! Anyone who answers all challenges correctly will be entered to win a drawing for a $100 gift card from their favorite participating California independent bookstore. Some bookstores are doing this challenge on Instagram, others through their web sites, and some are doing both!

So, ready for the challenge from the team at Telegraph Hill Books?

Your challenge is to name the books pictured below and share why you think they should NOT be banned. After you respond to this challenge you'll find a list at the bottom of this page with links to all the other participating stores. Once you've gone full circle completing the challenges at all stores, you will be entered into the drawing.
